Mammoth Hot Springs #4
This small collection is about as impressionistic as I get (so far). However looking into the water as the overhead light changed made for some images that were more abstract and impressionistic. These pools seemed to draw one’s attention into its colors and depths.
Several of them remind me of a contemporary painter named Cosmina, whose work is categorized as “atmospheric abstract.” I have seen her work in New York City and was enthralled with subtlety of the color transitions and movements in her work.
The posts this month show that one place can generate several projects. How one approaches a location is limited only by one’s creativity. So wander and work the scene. Gather all the images you can and put them together later, but also be mindful and intentional while taking the pictures. Your work will have greater cohesion.
